Shatta Wale in “good spirits” as bail conditions set at GHC10million – Management
Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has been granted bail of GHC10 million following questioning by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over the purchase of a luxury vehicle.
The musician, who presented himself to EOCO late on Wednesday, was detained overnight while his lawyers worked to meet the bail conditions, which include two sureties.
“They want to give him bail of 10 million cedis with two sureties and I can promise you that management and legal officers are working it out,” said Samuel Atuobi Baah, a member of Shatta Wale’s management team.
EOCO had earlier suggested that a vehicle in the singer’s possession was linked to criminal proceeds. But Mr Baah insisted investigators had cleared him of those suspicions.

“After interrogation it came out that Shatta is not involved in money laundering as being put out there — those are lies, total falsehood,” he said.
“I am sure EOCO has issues with how he paid his taxes on the car he bought and that is what is in contention.”
He added that although the bail process was ongoing, the artist remained in high spirits.
“I spoke to him and he is in good spirits and he thanks the fans for their support,” Mr Baah said.
Shatta Wale, one of Ghana’s most popular and outspoken performers, continues to attract widespread public attention, and his management has urged fans to remain calm as the case progresses.
